Document preparation is the process whereby paper is prepared for scanning in a high quality and productive manner. Document Preparator Operators will ensure that all received paper documents are in clean, good condition before they are scanned. Candidates must be able to work independently.
Job responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
- Staging and labeling boxes in the proper order by type.
- Removing files from boxes.
- Removing staples/paper clips.
- Repairing torn and dog-eared documents.
- Re-ordering documents, as necessary (quality and characteristics of documents).
- Document assessment (value of documents within a file).
- Creation of file cover or lead sheet.
- Identifying key indexing fields based on customer requirements.
- Application of bar code.
- Tracking of hours spent.
- Coordination with scanner operator.
- Cross-train in other areas of business to help out where needed.
